In 2010, I started a new quartet with wonderful musicians: Dirk Vanderlinden, piano - Bart De Nolf, double bass - Jan De Haas, Drums. I play the saxes of coarse.
We play the more ‘forgotten’ standards’ and some own compositions.
I hope to add some audio material soon on this page.
It is my plan to add some guests to The Quartet on some occasions. We already did some concerts with Paul Michiels and Sofie. We play as acoustically as possible! I hope to invite many other nice players soon!
These pictures were made on July 1st 2011 at ‘de Beleuvenissen’, the first summer festival of a series in Leuven, beer- town of Belgium. Thanks to Johan Timmers for the photo’s!

Jan de Haas is one of our top Jazz drummers. He is teaching at the Conservatory of Antwerp. His style is very suited for this project. We have met over 30 years ago and have been playing regularly in different projects. Bart De Nolf, the bass player, is teaching at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. He is the most regular bass player of Toots Thielemans, traveling all over the world with him. Also Bart has always been one of my favorite players for many years. He has a beautiful sound on bass and suits so well with what I’d like to hear. He is my favorite. Dirk Vanderlinden is a new relation of mine. He is not only a very nice pianist, he also plays guitar and organ. I have met him on a small gig a few years ago, I was very surprised of his playing, so I asked him to join the project. Dirk has many projects of his own playing with all kinds of artists. It is an honor to play with Dirk in this band.
